I'm on my Winter Break right now. It's been a while since I played my violin. I probably should brush up on some basics before I go back to school on the 7th.
Don't you think New Year is a special occasion? My friend Arya says that New Year is very inconsistent. She's right, if you live in Europe, you would be celebrating 7 hours earlier, and in Asia, 12 hours (since it's on the opposite side of the globe). The time changes make New Year happen at different times. There's also the religion. In Thailand, you celebrate Thai New Year in April.
If you watched the New Year Special on TV in New York, you'd see some people get very excited on New Year. Why else would someone shout "Happy New Year!" to the sky AND blow their party horn at it too?
